Todd MacKenzie - Keys, Sequencing
James Payfer - Drums, Percussion

"Like Moby and Depeche Mode, Channel has the ability
to make electronic music both emotional and beautiful."
-Robert Kinsler, the Orange County Register

Hailing from Anaheim, California, Channel were formed by Todd MacKenzie and Mark Rhodes. Performing as a duo they have released one album titled 'Burning Inside' on their own label.

With the addition of James Payfer on drums the band have now developed their current sound into something that carrys the new term 'electro-rock'. It's a sound that imbraces pop, rock, dance, darkwave and electronica. While one may hear traces of other artists, the sound is very much their own, thus creating a wonderful array of music which is that of Channel.

The band has toured the UK as official support for The Mission (uk), toured in So.Cal with Manchester pop legends The Chameleons (uk) and again with The Mission (uk) on their So.Cal tour. And, keeping their ties with the aforementioned bands, they also have toured with the solo outings of Wayne Hussey and Mark Burgess as well playing shows with Gearwhore, Anything Box, Spahn Ranch, Jesus Jones, Midge Ure (Ultravox), Simple Minds, David J (Bauhaus), Nina Hagen, The Thrill Kill Kult, Zeromancer and Pigface.

Currently, songs from their MP3 site have been downloaded over 18,000 times. Their music is being used on national TV shows, TV ads, and in movies.* With press and radio interviews, air play, live shows and acolades from the press and fans, it all acumilated in 2003 with the band winning an OCMA for best 'Electro Rock' band.

Recently, Todd MacKenzie was endorsed by world leading Pro Sound specialists CARVIN. James Payfer has an endorsement from Aquarian Drumheads and Accessories, and the band is endorsed by NATIVE INSTRUMENTS

- REVIEWS -

Robert Kinsler, Orange County Register
"Like Moby and Depeche Mode, Channel has the abilty to make electronic music both emotional and beautiful...the bonafide leaders of the local electronic rock scene."

Jeremy M. Helfgot, Factor X Magazine
"...a band that really breaks the mold...a sound that is as eclectic as it is refreshing...one of the few truly unique acts on the local scene who are worthy of serious attention."

Michelle Emard, LIVE Magazine
"The band is quickly becoming known for creating captivating sounds that have the ability to transform an ordinary place into an otherworldly space...mesmerizing light show and clouds of fog rolling onto the stage, it's simply a sensory assault...the combination is quite compelling."

Mean Street Magazine
"...super arse-kicking...entirely seductive and sweet to the ear."

Bart Mann, BAM Magazine
"The band successfully creates a melodic, supple backdrop, rich with nimble guitar work and throaty low end bass lines."

Bandradio.com
"This is a band that is going somewhere in the electronic genre."

earBuzz.com
"...a little INXS, a touch of Tangerine Dream, a bit of Trent Rezner, all blended together in a hip and compelling style untill all influences melt into one individual sound."

Listen.com
"...textured with synthetic clicks and pops, bleak ambient washes and irate guitars. Think Michael Hutchence's vocals set to a lush William Orbit production."

Brian Austin Whitney (founder), Just Plain Folks
"...from cool keyboard sample riffs to thick dark-edged harmonies...They build a fascinating aural landscape."
